Choosing a model
Which model to build with, what thinking effort changes, and why some models are locked until your first top-up.
Pick by the size of the job
Lower-cost models are genuinely good at the bulk of build work: copy changes, layout, adding a straightforward screen. Save the expensive ones for work that needs care — tricky logic, a feature touching several parts of the app at once, or a bug that has survived a couple of attempts.
Switching models mid-project is fine. Sneh keeps the project, not the model, as the thing that persists.
Thinking effort
Models that support it offer a thinking-effort setting. Higher effort means the model reasons longer before acting, which helps on genuinely hard problems and mostly just costs more on easy ones. Leave it low for routine work.
Why some models are locked
The higher-cost models unlock after your first top-up. A single turn on one of them can consume a large share of a free grant, and we would rather that grant got you to a finished, deployed app than to two impressive turns and an empty balance.
